Catch Me If You Can | Neil Simon Theatre

Based on the 2002 hit film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks and directed by Steven Spielberg, “Catch Me if You Can” finally catches its Broadway adaptation with a premiere set for Spring 2011.

It is the life story of Frank William Abagnale, an extraordinary con artist who successfully posed as a jet pilot, a doctor and a lawyer who passed the Louisiana Bar Exams after reviewing for only two weeks, but most of all, he’s being chased by FBI agent Carl Hanratty and his small army of men from the bureau’s Fraud Section for successfully cashing fake checks in more than a handful of banks not only in the US but all over the world, so extraordinaire as he did all these before his 21st birthday.

A cast for the musical adaptation is yet to be announced although the creative team is slowly being filled in with Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman in charge of the music and lyrics, which will be strongly inspired by the swing infested tunes of the ‘60s, Terrence McNally bringing in the goods with his script adapted from the film’s screenplay, Jerry Mitchell working in as the choreographer and Jack O’Brien leading things off as the director.

The musical is set to go in swinging motion on April 10, 2011 with preview runs starting on March 7, 2011 at the Neil Simon Theatre. For advanced tickets, premium seating and sold out shows, review the ticket options featured below.
